Mint, unused, never framed nor hung. Zodiac is a limited edition, hand pulled, fine art lithograph of Alphonse Mucha's, decorative design.
Zodiac was originally designed as the in-house calendar for printer and publisher, Champenois. It was Mucha's first work under contract with the printing house. The design caught the attention of the chief editor of La Plume, Leon Deschamps, and he bought the rights to distribute it as the magazine's calendar for 1897. It quickly became one of Mucha's most popular designs and there are at least nine known variants, including this design, which is an advertising poster for.
